  Computers communicate by using numbers called IP addresses to contact each other. It's similar to uing a phone number to call a friend.

  Domain names on the internet are a lot like entries in a phone book. The phone book tells people looking for a business what the entries are just as a domain tells people (i.e. their computers) that a domain is hosted on the server.

  So instead of having to remember a bunch of numbers similar to 192.168.1.1 With a domain name, all you have to do is type in the business name such as: www.joesplumbing.com

  Yes, your website is comparable to your actual business. Your domain name is just like a street address where customers can find you on the web. Domain names are required to be renewed once a year and you'll want to be sure that you renew them before the due date. Otherwise you can lose your domain name and it is difficult, or impossible to renew it again after it has expired.

  Your domain name is yours and cannot be taken from you as long as you renew it on time each year. If you neglect keeping up with renewals, then it is likely that someone else can purchase your expired domain name.

• How long is a domain name valid for?

  Once purchased, your domain registration is valid for one year unless you choose to pay for multiple years. Ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure you renew your domain name

• How do I renew my domains?

  If you are managing your own domain
  Login to your account using the link above. Click "DomainCentral." Choose the domains you would like to renew and follow the directions. Domain renewal rates will be available through your control panel.

  If we are managing your domain
  We will be in contact with you before your domain name expires. Please be sure that we have good contact information to reach you. CTI Networks is will not responsible for expired domains due to lack of communication from the customer.

• What happens if I don't renew my domain name by the expiration date?

  We will be in contact with you several weeks before your domain expires to ensure the renewal process goes smoothly. It very important that you keep your contact information up to date with us so we can contact you.

  If we are unable to contact you and your domain name does expire. You will be completely responsible for renewing your domain and any fees that may be incured. There is also a good chance that a third party may purchase your domain name after it has expired. If this happens, then it is beyond our control to retreive it.
